Frequently asked questions
Clear answers about the pouch concept, intended use and general compatibility.
What does the ORLAVINS pouch do?
It is a Faraday pouch for keyless car key fobs. When your fob is inside and the pouch is fully closed, the shielding lining is designed to help block the fob's radio signal, which helps reduce the risk of unwanted signal relay.
What is signal relay?
Many keyless cars unlock and start when the key fob is nearby. In a relay attack, equipment is used to pick up and extend the fob's signal so the car behaves as if the key were right next to it.
Keeping the fob in a closed shielding pouch while you are not using it helps reduce that exposure.
Will my key fob fit?
The pouch is designed to hold one standard keyless car key fob. Very large or unusually shaped fobs may not fit comfortably. If you are unsure, send us your fob's make and model and we'll help you check.
Does it work with my car?
The pouch works with the key fob rather than the car, so it is intended for keyless entry and keyless start fobs that fit inside. Fobs vary, so we recommend a quick check once your pouch arrives.
How can I check that it is working?
Place your fob in the pouch, close it fully and stand right next to your car. Try the door handle or the start button. If the car does not respond, the signal is being shielded.
If it does respond, make sure the pouch is fully closed and try again.
Can I use my key while it is in the pouch?
No. The pouch is designed to block the signal, so take the fob out when you want to unlock or start the car, and return it to the pouch when you are home or away from the car.
When can I order?
Online checkout is opening soon. You can reserve your pouch today from the shop page with no payment taken, and we'll email you as soon as checkout is live so you can complete your order.
What about delivery and returns?
We plan to offer free UK delivery on orders over £100 and a 30-day returns window. Full delivery and returns policies will be published before checkout opens.
How should I look after it?
Wipe the pouch with a soft, dry cloth and keep it away from prolonged moisture and direct heat. Avoid keeping sharp objects inside, as damage to the lining can reduce shielding.
